Food & Drink - Dine Out

St Ives has a wonderful, vibrant restaurant scene and our visitors are spoilt for choice when they want to dine out whether, its breakfast, lunch or evening meal. From fish and chips fresh out of paper to high end fine dining overlooking beautiful sunsets there is something for everyone. We have provided links to our three favourites below:

The Bean Inn

The Bean Inn is based on the ground floor of its sister business, Coast B&B, and is open to non-residents. All of their dishes are approved by the Vegetarian Society and they are part of their Food & Drink Guild. All of their dishes are vegan or can be adapted.

Bean Inn aim to offer you some of the tastiest vegetarian and vegan dishes from around the world. Bringing you the best flavours using the best quality ingredients. They therefore use local, organic and seasonal produce whenever possible. Their cleaning and laundry products & soaps are environmentally friendly and free from animal ingredients. None of the products are tested on animals.

The Bean Inn is also licensed and all drinks are vegan friendly. With a carefully selected drinks list including organic options and award winning locally made wines and beers.


The Loft

The Loft is situated in the quaint artists quarter of the picturesque town of St Ives. Their menu follows an ethos of finding the best local ingredients and cooking simply but with with passion. There is a sun terrace that overlooks the beautiful bay where you can enjoy the wonderful menus on offer which change with the seasons.

If you love sea-food then make sure you try the Westcountry Oysters and truly delicious Cornish mussels. Meat eaters will be wowed by the extensive mixed grill or tender steaks. There is an early eater menu for those who like to dine earlier in the evening.

Booking in advance is recommended.


Porthminster Beach Cafe

This delightful award-winning seafood restaurant is nestled beneath the steep slopes of Porthminster Point, right on the beach with unbeatable and uninterrupted views across St Ives Bay to Godrevy Lighthouse.

The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and specialises in Mediterranean and Asian seafood cuisine it is open daily for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and a  selection of homemade patisserie and fine coffees from St Ives Small Batch Coffee Roasting Company. We advise to book in advance and on sunny days request an outside table on the terrace overlooking the sea, there’s no better way to enjoy the wonderful food and setting. The sunsets are to die for!


Source Kitchen

You can start your day with a breakfast at Source Kitchen which is located close by to our cottages on The Digey. They serve incredible Single Origin Burundi coffee, hand roasted by Cornico in Cornwall and also bake cakes, scones and biscuits that can be enjoyed throughout the day or packaged up for you to enjoy back at your Cottage.

At lunch you’ll find an exciting menu that will be a treat for seafood lovers, vegetarians and meat eaters. Have a relaxing lunch in the restaurant or take it back to your cottage, or to the beach.

Dinner at Source Kitchen is all about sharing, ingredient focused and led by season. Enjoy snacks, small plates, large plates and desserts all designed to be shared by the table.
